Met Gala 2023

The theme of the gala was Karl Lagerfeld, who I don’t like very much, but I do enjoy suits and buttoned collars. Here is my selection of photos from the event, with my very ill-informed commentary.

Pierce Brosnan’s suit jacket here is a nice fabric, but I am mostly here for the amazing work that’s been done with Keely Shaye Smith’s outfit, which is spectacular. The cape is super cute, but just look at the invisible corsetry that’s creating that physical structure for her. She looks amazing, and it’s kinda easy to do that with young skinny people, but she’s apparently 59 and has had two kids. I love this outfit on her so much, I cannot even.
